As you may know, we have been in this industry for 19 years now. This financial year has been our biggest ever. I don’t just mean financially either, I mean it has been our biggest in a lot of different ways. It has been a white knuckle ride as we have been moving into new products, new staff, new branding and new offices. Read more
With the ability to model these decisions and their effects “on the hoof” the Councillors felt comfortable in being able to make alternative funding decisions like moving a particular targeted rate from land value to capital value or spreading the rate over more ratepayers.
Recently the IPART Fit For Future report came out and as it turns out, only one third of NSW’s councils are considered fit for future. Since the report came out, Ibis has met and discussed it with a number of councils, some of our clients were very pleased with their results, and others were disappointed at the result. Our clients, the ones who were disappointed are not necessarily surprised, but now at least know what they need to do to become, what is considered, “Fit for future”.
There are now six NZ Councils that have implemented, or are currently implementing the new functionality. The feedback received from the clients that have implemented the additional “Funding Policy Network and advanced/comparative model reporting”
IBIS is excited about the new modules we added to our Rates Modelling offering. Having worked with selected Councils for 18 months, a significant part of the new functionality was specifically designed for New Zealand (NZ) councils.
In the last year, IBIS has experienced continued business growth, and as a result in the last 6 months, 4 new employees have joined the IBIS team.
