Ibis Makes A Splash At 2017 LARMAQ Local Government Conference

For the 11th year in a row, Ibis has been a sponsor of the Local Authorities Revenue Managers’ Association of Queensland (LARMAQ) annual conference.  This year it was held on the Sunshine Coast (4-6 October).

LARMAQ’s mission continues to be to “help local councils achieve their goals by billing and collecting the right amount, from the right customer at the right time”.

Some of the topics covered at the conference included:

– forecasting long-term sustainability of local governments

– dealing with hardship

– engaging the customer in a debt conversation

– insights for revenue collection from behavioural science

Richard & Chris were present at the Ibis stand at the conference and they surveyed attendees on their progress with planning processes and their debt collection issues.

Although many councils seem to have outsourced their planning & debt processes there was still a need to integrate the process for improved transparency.

Many attendees also reinforced the growing importance of accurate planning processes and resourcing in their reviews.
